2014 Amazing Bronx River Flotilla and the Starlight 5K Canoe Challenge

The Bronx River Alliance extends a BIG thanks to ALL of you who made our 15th Annual Amazing Bronx River Flotilla and 2nd Annual Starlight 5K Canoe Challenge a huge success and a day at the park to remember! Together with our 5K Canoe Challenge participants, donors, business sponsors, we raised over $43,000 to support of our canoe program this season. These crucial funds will provide paddling opportunities to over 1,000 kids and their families this season, and help to keep the river clean and navigable.

Thanks to our partner organization, who provided the day's activities: NYC Parks & Recreation (provided the Play Mobile & Fitness Mobile). Over 40 kids and adults participated in our Learn to ride clinic with partner Bike NY (add link) and additional bike loan programs. Hundreds more enjoyed a fun-filled day of activities.

And we can't forget our mascot José the Beaver who helped get the dancing started with live music from Bombayo and during the Zumba sessions provided by Curves!
