GREENWAY PROGRAM
The Greenway Program promotes and supports the implementation and development of a safe, continuous, and publicly accessible green space along the Bronx River. The Bronx River Greenway is a proposed 23-mile multi-use path that would connect Bronx River communities all along the river in Westchester and the Bronx. The greenway will provide a critical north-south recreation and transportation connection for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other community members. Approximately 15 miles of the greenway are currently in place.

What is a Greenway? The Greenway Team is a committee of local community groups, environmental organizations, and government agencies at the city, state, and federal levels that works directly with the staff of the Greenway Program to collaboratively identify and prioritize projects. In addition, the team serves as a standing community and technical advisory committee by providing a unique and consistent forum for dialogue about the design and implementation of the greenway.
