Bronx River Pedal & Paddle
Concrete Plant Park start
Start your day with a 15 mile ride along the existing and planned Bronx River Greenway and finish with a paddle on the Bronx River.
Starting at Concrete Plant Park, this ride, which combines existing greenway with riders on road sections willtake riders to the southernmost section of the Bronx River Greenway in Soundview Park before pedaling the 8 mile length north to Muskrat cove. Then the group will again pedal south back to Concrete Plant Park. Up to 40 riders will then have the opportunity to paddle canoes in the estuary section of the river.
Take note that most of the bike ride is on road and no streets are closed. The estuary paddle can be somewhat arduous as paddlers are subject to the tides as well as the wind. Experience is prefered but plenty of energy is required!
Tickets go on sale 8/30/10 at 6 am At: bxriverpedalandpaddle.eventbrite.com/
Pedalers get priority for the paddle. If you just wish to only pedal, there is no cost but a donation will be accepted.
