June 16, 2009 - June 17, 2009 (7:00 pm) NyC H2O Lecture on NYC Drinking Water Community Center at St. Jeans Baptiste, 184 East 76th @ Lexington Ave NYC has some of the best quality drinking water in the U.S. Ever wonder how NYC gets its water and why it’s so good? Come hear Scot Chesman PhD speak about the construction of City Water Tunnel # 3 and the Moshulu Tunnel, which brings Croton water into the new filtering plant being built under Van Cortland park. Scot has worked on both. Scot is a geologist and sandhog whose unique combination of theory and practice makes him a highly sought after consultant on tunnel construction by the NYCDEP and major contractors like Schiavone and Skanska.
